In many cases we may encounter a requirement where we are required to perform server side logic utilizing client side events (onchange, onsave, onload…etc) in MS CRM. We generally prefer to use actions for dealing with these kinds of operations.

So in this blog, we’ll take a detailed look at how to trigger an action and retrieve the action output parameters using script with a simple example.


Let us create a simple action which will trigger on save of the account and create a primary contact.

Dynamics 365 – Add Icons to Entity Views

1.   Introduction

Microsoft Dynamics 365 has a new feature added for customizing entity views, where-in we can add custom icons with tool-tip text to display in a column depending on the column value; we can also specify localized tool-tip text.

This can be done by using JavaScript web resource and icons as image web resource. Below are the steps to add icons and tool-tips to entity view.

Adding Default Tax to Quote Products

When we create a CRM Quote, the Total Tax of the quote is calculated as the sum of individual taxes of the respective Quote Products. i.e., Tax can only be declared for Quote Products. There could be situations where default tax % has to be set instead of asking the end user to enter the tax manually. Since MS CRM doesn’t provide a direct way of doing this, either of the options explained below can be adapted.
